Once in awhile Josh and I attend another church down the street from us. I attend alone this morning, while Josh was at a prayer meeting with one of our elders at our house church. The guy speaking today talked about that the big thing about American Freedom is dreaming, our ability to dream. He continued on about how that relates to America, but all I could think about was "my dream."
What is my dream? I started to think about orphan care, the nations, etc. Then some songs from Shaun Grove's CD Third World Symphony came to mind. The first was from Come by Here:
What is my dream? I started to think about orphan care, the nations, etc. Then some songs from Shaun Grove's CD Third World Symphony came to mind. The first was from Come by Here:
The orphans shout for a loving father
And the whores reach out for a faithful lover
We’re all singing now
God, will you come by here?
The widows need life to raise the dead and
All the beggars plead for their daily bread
Oh, we’re all singing please
God, will you come by here?
Come, we have nothing else God
And having You we want for nothing
And the whores reach out for a faithful lover
We’re all singing now
God, will you come by here?
The widows need life to raise the dead and
All the beggars plead for their daily bread
Oh, we’re all singing please
God, will you come by here?
Come, we have nothing else God
And having You we want for nothing
Then, to wrap up the heart of "my dream" I thought of his chorus to Kingdom Come:
‘Til the sword is spared
And the bread is shared
‘Til the dying’s done
Let your kingdom come
‘Til the rich ones give
And the poor ones live
‘Til the weak are strong
Let your kingdom come
Oh, God, what do we pray down here?
Your kingdom coming
Let it come to us
Let it come through us
And the bread is shared
‘Til the dying’s done
Let your kingdom come
‘Til the rich ones give
And the poor ones live
‘Til the weak are strong
Let your kingdom come
Oh, God, what do we pray down here?
Your kingdom coming
Let it come to us
Let it come through us
If you have not downloaded Third World Symphony, GO DO IT! It's the best music that I've heard in a long time. The words are so rich. Here are Shaun's words about how and why he wrote this album.
"It's good music but it hasn't been where we've been!"
Makes me think, "Where has my faith been?"
Anyways, those are my thoughts this morning!
