Josh and I are in the middle of 20 hours of online training! We are preparing ourselves for the bumpy road ahead. The referral process, reviewing medical records, waiting, travel, meeting our child, bringing them home and all that entails! We are learning so much. Along the way, I read a lot of adoption mom blogs. I see the joys and the struggles they go through. Through the adoption process and once we arrive home with our child, we will need tons of support. So, while we are getting educated, I thought I would help my friends and family prepare as well!
Because we'll need you every step of the way!
So, Mondays will be dedicated to helping YOU learn how to support
adoptive & pre-adoptive families you know.
It's my my goal to stay positive!
I don't know a lot, but I know some...
So, we can learn together!

Our friends are really good at this!
As pre-adoptive parents, we are excited and scared, just like expectant parents!
As a soon to be mom, I dream of painting the baby room and baby showers. I have a whole pinterest board dedicated to ideas for the baby room. I get nervous about being able to meet their needs. Then I get teary eyed thinking about the first moment I get to meet them. I have cravings! I've been craving fro-yo like it's going out of style! It's true, but maybe not related to the adoption! :D
Just like you ask expectant moms & dads how they are feeling and doing, don't be afraid to ask us! For me, you can't see a growing waste line to know we are preparing for a child. Also, I constantly fear being the annoying mom that talks about it too much! So, if you are interested, ask us how its going.
We need friends and family that can share the joys and fears we are going through!
Any other thoughts, moms?
