Saturday was the Orphan Run Oklahoma! I was blessed to be apart of this amazing event. I first was introduced to Matthew Benjamin, race director, during an online sermon from the Church @ Battle Creek. Random thing about me, I volunteer in the community at 5k races. This year, Josh and I decided that my usual event, The Race for the Cure, was just too much. So, I took a smaller role. Then, thought "Hmmm, wonder if Matt needs some help! We've just started the adoption journey. I should help." BOY am I glad I did! Matt is amazing. You need to check out his story. He's 14 years old and last year raised 31,000 dollars for orphan care in Uganda.
This year, Matt, along with an amazing team of youth and adults, organized a 5k & 1 mile Fun Run. OMG, it was so amazing to be apart of. We signed up over 1,000 participants, raised over $100,000.00 for orphan care in Uganda, and helped local foster care kids with basic needs.
I have THREE highlights! Ready?

I have THREE highlights! Ready?
1. One of my contributions to the run was putting together and ordering our back bibs! I was so blessed to see the adoptive families proudly walking around with their back bibs on!
2. I loved having MY adoptive family out at the run to support orphan care around the world. It was so fun. Hopefully one day my brother's family will be home to participate.
We all proudly wore our "Proud to be an Adoptive Family" bibs!
3. I was able to meet one of the most inspiring young men ever! Read more of my thoughts HERE! We was sold, rescued, and adopted! You'll want to go read it.
OH WAIT! Keep reading!
