Happy Monday, friends!
Let's get straight to our Do's & Don'ts of Supporting an Adoptive Family for today!
Let's get straight to our Do's & Don'ts of Supporting an Adoptive Family for today!
Pray with us and for us! You can read what I am praying for our child HERE. Join us in praying for our journey and our child. Don't hesitate to stop at dinner and ask if you can pray with us. If you hear we are going through a hard time, pray. If you hear we are waiting on something, pray that it comes quickly. Also, I think it is okay to ask us what we want you to be specifically praying. I definitely believe in being specific in prayers.
I have been known to tell people NOT to pray something for me. For example, I don't want you to pray "God, no matter how long it takes..." Let's graciously ask for specifics. "God, I know the process can take 10-12 months. Would you make a way for this to take place in 10 months?" Why not! If he answers no, we'll be gracious and accepting, because we are seeking the heart of God!
I was at breakfast last week with a dear friend, Laura. As we talked about the adoption and some time frames, she asked if she could stop right there and pray for that situation. UMM, YES!
So, pray with your friends and family that are traveling the road of adoption!
