From Her:

I met Josh at a Rendevous Event (back in the day), c/o Life Church. I had heard from friends about this man who was returning from India and how he would be at the event. I remember looking over and my best friend, Haven, was talking to him. Jealous? Yes! I was so interested in hearing about India that I went and introduced myself. We became friends and then I moved to East Asia for two years.
I kept in touch with Josh a little bit while in East Asia. When I returned to the states, I heard about a bible study he had started. The focus was right up my alley. So, I decided to invite myself along (seeing a pattern!). This bible study, Tribe, was an answer to my prayers. What an amazing community! You'll meet these folks at the wedding! They'll be sitting with our families, in the front.
A few months later, as fate would have it, Josh and I ended up single at the same time! Plus, we happened to live two blocks from each other. We started walking to Tribe together and became very good friends. During this time, I remember learning how funny Josh is. Every Thursday, we walked. Then we started adding dinner to our walks. Then we started adding weekend fun and phone calls to our friendship. I remember thinking how lucky I was that Josh Moseby wanted to talk to me!
So, we started dating. We fell in love. We got engaged. Now, we're getting MARRIED!
High Five!

From Him:

Kara and I met shortly after my year in India. I was reconnecting with old friends and she was new to that community of friends. Since she had also spent time overseas, our first conversation was about our international experiences (a definite perk for me!)
Unfortunately our story did not follow the Hollywood romance theme because we both had other romantic interests, and within a few months she had moved overseas...for 2 years! She frequently sent out email updates, which I read, and we dialogued some through email.
When Kara returned to the US in November 2007 she plugged into a group I was leading that had a keen interest in knowing and following Jesus. Shortly after coming to the group she also plugged into the church I was attending. Then shortly after that she actually moved into my neighborhood. And then shortly after that she began stalking me, randomly peering into my windows at night and all sorts of other creepy stuff...okay, that’s a joke. But everything was true up to the part about moving into my neighborhood.
Since the group we attended met at a location 1.5 miles from our neighborhood, we began walking there together. This is where our friendship really grew...those long walks to and from group. On the way to group, we’d talk about all sorts of things...our days, living overseas, life stuff. She’d also be my sounding board as I bounced ideas off her for group that evening. On the way back from group, we’d stop at a nearby restaurant and eat dinner, getting to know each other more and more along the way. After a while, we had pretty much become best friends.
Well, Summer 2008 I finally worked up the courage to ask her if she’d like to begin a “dating relationship” (...she said yes!) And we dated for nearly 1.5 years. We did everything together...walks, movies, dinners, holidays, squirrel-fishing. During this time our friendship grew and Kara became my best supporter and counselor and friend. Also, as I thought about the type of woman God absolutely favors in Scripture, it was definitely her. So, on March 6th 2010 I asked Kara to be the love of my life!
I look forward to enjoying with her this lifelong, God-ordained covenant called marriage. I am very fortunate to marry such a beautiful and godly woman. I sincerely believe it will be an exciting adventure.
